Position Summary:This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment. It helps the Company succeed by limiting delays and completing jobs in a timely fashion.
Equipment ranges from Back Hoes, Cranes, Dozers, Loaders, Excavators, Dump Trucks, and basically anything Construction related.
Duties and Tasks:
- Pre-deliver, inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment
- Order parts and prepare repair estimates
- Prepare accurate inspection and service reports and maintain other records as required.
- Complete jobs within Company's guidelines
- Keep work areas clean and orderly
- Work in a safe manner
- Comply with company policies and government regulations
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of moving objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Able to maneuver on/under heavy equipment
- Maneuver over irregular terrain
- Able to operate a motor vehicle day and night
Working Conditions:
- Hazards from electrical, mechanical and power equipment
- Risk of exposure to chemicals such as steam cleaner soap, used oil, spent antifreeze, parts cleaning solvent, volatile hydrocarbons, battery acid
- Extremes of weather
- Mists, fumes and non-continuous noises of varying sound level and intensities
- Dust from grinding machines
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocation or technical degree and/or equivalent work experience or training
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Self-motivated
- Knowledge of Service department operations and heavy equipment technology
- Willing to take a background and drug test.
- John Deere, Case, or Caterpillar experience preferred
