Job Title: CNC Service Tech
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Service Tech with strong hands-on experience in repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining CNC mills and lathes. This role requires a self-motivated professional who is comfortable working independently at customer sites and traveling for extended periods to provide top-tier technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines, including mills and lathes, at customer locations
- Install, commission, and test CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machinery
- Interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics to resolve equipment issues
- Provide technical support and training to customers on machine operation and maintenance
- Document service activities, including reports, parts usage, and recommendations
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and service delivery
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience servicing CNC mills and lathes in a field or manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Hands-on experience with CNC controls, specifically Fanuc and/or Siemens
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Travel Requirements:
- Comfortable servicing a 2-3 hour radius of Boise with limited overnight stays
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in machining, engineering technology, or related field
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines
- Familiarity with PLC systems and programming
Work Environment:
- Field-based role with frequent travel to customer facilities
- Exposure to industrial environments, including noise, moving machinery, and varying conditions
