Overview
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to join our team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive outstanding guest services from the moment they arrive. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a memorable dining experience by managing reservations, seating arrangements, and guest relations with professionalism and warmth.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to optimize flow and comfort
- Manage restaurant reservation systems efficiently, including booking, confirming, and adjusting reservations using systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Maintain an organized waiting list and coordinate with servers to ensure timely seating
- Answer phone calls promptly with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about the restaurant and reservation details
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service operations and guest satisfaction
- Uphold food safety standards by adhering to hygiene protocols during guest interactions
- Handle guest inquiries professionally, resolving concerns promptly to enhance guest relations
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a positive attitude!
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently over the phone and in person
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
- Basic math skills for handling reservations and managing seating arrangements accurately
- Knowledge of hospitality standards including guest services, customer relations, and food safety practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining a lively and welcoming demeanor
