A. Maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment to insure cleanliness; repairs, inspects, shampoos, replaces, and cleans contents and fixtures of the buildings, as assigned; will report any building deficiencies found during shift.
B. Maintains consumables inventory to ensure adequate supplies to perform duties.
C. Conducts office, classroom, and common space furniture moves; assists with college event set ups.
D. Assists with snow removal, which may include the operation of motorized equipment, and with emergency evacuations as assigned.
E. Conserves energy by turning off lights in unoccupied rooms.
F. Provides excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and students.
G. Assists with campus security and may deliver intra-campus mail.
H. Serves as a member of the emergency response team.
Other Responsibilities:
A. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
B. May serve as a back-up to other staff members, as needed.
C. May assist new employees and coordinate the activities of as-needed and student workers.
D. Responds to the functions of the position in an environmental setting which might include cold, heat, odor, dampness, dirt, fumes, dust, oil, grease, noise, or vibration on a frequent basis. Appropriate protective devices are available as required.
A. High school diploma or equivalent with ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions required.
B. At least one to three years of commercial or institutional custodial experience required.
C. Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without an accommodation; ability to climb ladders and to move stage platforms and chairs, etc. required.
D. Ability to pass a physical exam if offered the position.
E. Excellent oral and written communication skills desirable.
F. Proficiency in English desirable.
G. Valid State driver's license desirable.
