Your expertise will help create beautiful smiles while educating patients on maintaining their oral health.
What you’ll do
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and assessments to maintain optimal oral hygiene for patients
- Educate patients on proper oral care techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary choices
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient records and treatment planning
- Conduct vital signs monitoring and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations
- Assist in pediatric dentistry by providing gentle care tailored to younger patients’ needs
- Implement four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
- Review documentation and assist in medical coding for insurance purposes
Skills
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and staff
- Proficiency in chairside assisting and general dentistry practices
- Experience with EMR systems for efficient patient management
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure a safe treatment environment
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating compassion and understanding towards diverse populations
- Ability to assess patient needs accurately and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable
