Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer supports production by developing and maintaining the documentation, tooling, and processes required for safe, efficient, repeatable manufacturing of our large catalog of products. This role maintains 3D models and 2D drawings in Inventor, as well as legacy 2D drawings in AutoCAD. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for accurate entry of MRP data, as well as maintaining customer manuals.
This role must have good familiarity with fabrication operations and expected tolerances for saw cutting, punching, forming, drilling, etc. The Manufacturing Engineer must have basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, including reading schematics and troubleshooting existing designs.
The Manufacturing Engineer will gain product knowledge by occasionally participating in assembly and test of prototypes and production articles.
The Manufacturing Engineer is expected to manage tasks independently and communicate progress and issues proactively.
Job Duties:
Maintain CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs, Routings, Item Cards, and other engineering documentation, consistent with ASME Y14 and company standards
Support production by troubleshooting manufacturing issues and developing practical solutions
Design, specify, and implement assembly fixtures, jigs, gauges, and manufacturing processes to improve quality, safety, and production
Perform inspections of parts, assemblies, and finished products as needed to resolve issues
Support Purchasing and Sales requests for engineering documentation
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
Entry level and up
Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems, drawing consistent with ASME Y14, GD&T. Understanding of electrical systems, simple hydraulic circuits, and material hoisting systems is a plus.
Complete tasks with attention to detail. See tasks to completion with minimal guidance and supervision. Develop an understanding of our products and manufacturing processes.
Microsoft Office, 3D modeling and 2D engineering drawing (preferably Autodesk Inventor), MRP system (preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV)
