At Crisis Connections, crisis clinicians don’t read scripts or carry caseloads. They provide real-time clinical decision-making, guide life-saving interventions, and serve as trusted clinical leaders supporting the front-line staff who answer the call.
As a Crisis Services Clinician, you’ll combine direct crisis assessment with clinical leadership—supporting callers in their most critical moments while mentoring and consulting with crisis phone staff and volunteers. This is high-acuity work done collaboratively, with structure, backup, and mission-driven purpose.

Provide clinical assessment, suicide risk evaluation, and crisis intervention via telephone

Serve as the clinical lead on shift, offering real-time consultation, coaching, and support to crisis phone staff and volunteers

Coordinate crisis response, including hospital diversion, triage, and one-call coordination with first responders

Authorize inpatient services using clinical judgment and least-restrictive care principles

Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to high clinical and ethical standards

Collaborate with community partners, hospitals, mobile crisis teams, and public mental health agencies

Enjoy rapid assessment, clinical consultation, and decision-making in high-acuity situations

Prefer shift-based work without an ongoing caseload

Value collaborative practice and structured clinical leadership

Requirements:
What We’re Looking For

Master’s degree in a social science or related field

Eligible for or pursuing Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) licensure or higher (Licensure costs reimbursed; support provided)

At least 2 years of supervised clinical experience working with individuals experiencing serious mental illness

Strong clinical judgment, calm decision-making, and comfort in high-pressure situations

Prior leadership, supervision, or consultation experience strongly preferred
