The Salon Receptionist/Assistant of Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids, Staten Island will assume multiple roles throughout each shift. The primary function is to ensure all customers feel welcome, comfortable and communicated with throughout their entire visit.
The Salon Receptionist is the first face our clients see when they walk through the door. Please welcome each client by saying “Welcome to Sharkey’s!”
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Smile and talk to our customers!
- Above all else, greet all guests and offer friendly, prompt and exceptional service. This includes and is not limited to:
- Check-in appointment and walk-in clients
o Ask for their name
o Ask How they heard about us
- Keep track of clients with appointments vs. walk-ins.
o Politely explain to the walk-in clients that there are appt’s ahead of them and estimate the wait time where appropriate.
- Let the stylist know the name of their next client and that he or she have been checked in.
- Introduce the client to the stylist whenever possible
- Let the client know the name of the stylist and that she will be with them as soon as possible
- Glamour Girl party co-host as needed
- Help maintain adequate inventory of hair products and tools as needed
- Help ensure clients with scheduled appointments receive service in a timely manner
- Help to keep product shelves stocked as needed
- Process client payment for salon services and products
- Educate clients on hair care products
o Vacuum and wipe off chairs after the stylist has finished with each haircut
o Sweep stations after the stylist has finished with each haircut
o Laundry
▪ Ensure stylists are always stocked with towels and capes
▪ Empty towel bins
o Maintain Combs and Brushes
▪ Empty used comb/brush bins
▪ Combs will be placed in barbicide, brushes will be placed in ship shape.
▪ Keep stylists fully stocked with combs and brushes
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
