Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated IT Specialist/Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain our organization’s information technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in system administration, network management, and solution architecture, ensuring the seamless operation of our IT environment. Duties
- Manage and support the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and network components, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise software solutions such as Pegasystems and other business applications.
- Oversee system design, architecture, and configuration management to align with organizational needs and industry best practices.
- Maintain active directory management, user account provisioning, and access controls to ensure secure system operations.
- Perform server backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data against loss or corruption.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Monitor system performance through tuning activities, load balancing, and capacity planning to optimize operational reliability.
- Support virtualization technologies such as VMware and ESXi, including server provisioning and resource allocation.
- Ensure information security by managing firewalls, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), DNS configurations, and implementing security protocols.
- Collaborate within an Agile development environment utilizing DevOps practices for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Support database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
- Maintain documentation related to system architecture, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for reference and compliance purposes.

Requirements
- Proven experience in system administration with a focus on Windows Server administration and operating systems management.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components including RAID controllers, load balancing solutions, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), DNS (Domain Name System), firewalls, VPNs, and network protocols such as RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with solution architecture design for enterprise applications utilizing microservices architectures and service-oriented architecture principles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Azure for infrastructure deployment and management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell scripting), PowerShell, Python or JavaScript for automation tasks.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi or Hyper-V; knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across systems & applications support domains efficiently.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git repositories (GitHub/GitLab), T-SQL scripting for database management; familiarity with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices is preferred.
- Strong understanding of information security principles including access controls, encryption methods, vulnerability assessment, and threat mitigation strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco CCNA/CCNP or AWS certifications are advantageous.
