A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CUSTODIAN
As a Custodian for the YMCA, you will keep the building and property clean, well-functioning, and problem free. You will need to have the ability to fix and clean the assigned areas. Custodians are what keep assigned areas clean, up-to-date, and ready for the children, staff, and clients every day. It is more than just collecting trash, mopping, and fixing things, the hard work helps provide a safe, clean, and sanitary facility for all to enjoy.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CUSTODIAN
At least 18 years of age
Must be able to complete assigned job duties with minimal supervision.
Must be able to lift and move items over 50 pounds
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a physical
Ability to acquire appropriate certifications within 90 days
Love for a community environment
Are you a people person who especially enjoys interacting with others? Do you have a basic understanding of building maintenance and cleaning agents? The typical schedule for our Custodian position is
15 hours per week - evenings.
