Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients to support chefs and cooks
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, ingredients, and equipment using safe lifting practices
- Support restaurant operations by bussing tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining a tidy dining area
- Operate POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS for serving guests efficiently and accurately
- Contribute to banquet setups and service, ensuring timely delivery of quality meals for events
- Maintain communication with team members to coordinate food service, guest needs, and kitchen activities
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks with care
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team and serve guests courtefully
- Experience with food service equipment, including POS systems like Aloha or Micros is a plus
- Familiarity with hospitality environments such as hotels or catering services is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
