Why you’ll love this position: Within the Division of Learning Services, the Office of Quality Schools works to manage the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP), the state’s accreditation system for public school districts. This office also administers a wide range of state- and federally funded programs that assist local schools (Title I, Title III and other federal programs), charter and other innovative schools, as well as developing a statewide system of support for schools, communities and families. Schools also are provided assistance on federal and state-developed improvement initiatives which are coordinated with other state and regional services.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Provide administrative support to ensure that operations are efficient and communication is accurate.
- Support the operation of the section, one Virtual Learning Administrator, including the Virtual Learning Administrator, Virtual Instruction Supervisor, and contracted counselors.
- Perform and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Generate and proofread correspondence, reports, and other documents for staff, school districts and the public to ensure accuracy before forwarding, routing and/or processing.
- Generate and process section forms and expenditure and invoice documents for the section in addition to managing office supplies. These include, but are not limited to, the processing of the following:
- Departmental Purchase Requisitions;
- State Printing Requisitions;
- Out of State Travel Authorizations;
- MoDoc reports; and,
- DESE invoice forms.
- Process invoices and track Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program (MOCAP) expenditures.
- Review, process, and submit contractor invoices and time sheets to ensure accuracy.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable and engaged attendance.

Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency, and three years’ experience as an administrative assistant, demonstrating the ability to manage a fast-paced office and provide excellent customer service experiences, skilled production and review of accurate written communication for publication in print and media forms, proficiency in office management tools and software, school enrollment services, or closely related experience.
