Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality animal care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure a compassionate experience for our clients and their pets. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional veterinary services, promote animal well-being, and support the overall health of our diverse patient population. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures using aseptic techniques and veterinary terminology.
- Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and maintain accurate records to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, and administering medications while adhering to animal husbandry best practices.
- Take and process X-ray images accurately, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care initiatives.
- Handle animal catheterization, IV placement, and other critical care procedures with precision and compassion.
- Maintain detailed records of animal physiology, anatomy, and treatment history to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with dog training exercises and pet grooming to promote positive behavior and comfort for our furry patients.
- Ensure all equipment is sterilized and maintained according to veterinary standards, supporting infection control protocols.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal handling techniques.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care procedures.
- Laboratory experience including sample collection, analysis, and aseptic technique application.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards for staff and animals.
- Skilled in dog handling techniques including training and support.
- Excellent animal restraint skills combined with a compassionate approach to pet care.
Strong understanding of veterinary technician responsibilities including patient monitoring and documentation. What You'll bring to the team
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
- A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
- One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
