Trailer Technician Summary
In this journeyman technician position, you'll hit the ground running in a large, fast-paced fleet environment. You'll ensure that our fleet of heavy-duty trailers stays in top shape by ensuring all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed. You'll handle the process from the initial inspection through the final inspection. You'll use your mechanical experience to guide entry-level technicians, keep our drivers safe, and ensure our operation keeps running like a well-oiled machine. Your Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance // Complete PMs on our fleet's trailers and equipment. PMs include lubrication, inspections, seals, bearings, DOT inspections, and other preventative maintenance.
- Corrective Maintenance // Perform corrective maintenance on heavy equipment, including brakes, electrical failures, frame repairs, and much more.
- Diagnosis // Diagnose issues with fleet equipment using diagnostic equipment.
- Maintenance Software // Utilize maintenance software to review pending services, repair history, and create repair orders.
Your Skillset
- Trailer Repair // Demonstrable experience completing both preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
- Tool Proficiency // Extensive experience with both hand and power tools.
- Time Management // Proven ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment while managing one's own time effectively.
- Communication Skills // Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, which are required to effectively communicate and track repair orders.
- Diagnostics and Computer Skills // Proficiency using equipment diagnostic software, as well as prior experience using maintenance tracking software.
Minimum Qualifications
A(n) High School Diploma, or equivalent, and at least one (1) year of experience working on heavy equipment. An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.
- Tool Ownership // Must own and utilize a complete set of tools required for performing all maintenance and repair tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
A(n) Associate's degree or certification in diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related field, and at least two (2) years of experience working on heavy equipment. An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.
Salary and Schedule
- Salary // Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- Schedule // Full-Time; On-Site; Monday-Friday; 07:00 AM - 3:30 PM; Overtime eligible.
