Manager of Behavior Intervention Services
Pay: $55,000-$60,000 Annually
Location: Onsite in Smithtown, NY
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-4PM
Position Summary
The Manager of BIS serves as a key support to the Director of Behavioral Intervention Services, assisting with departmental operations, strategic initiatives, special projects, and service delivery. This role also oversees the timely staffing of qualified, credentialed providers for both in-district and home-based behavioral intervention services to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring students receive consistent, high-quality services by demonstrating a strong sense of urgency, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of behavioral and clinical service delivery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Behavioral Intervention Services with day-to-day departmental operations, strategic initiatives, and special projects.
- Assist in coordinating and overseeing the delivery of behavioral intervention services across school-based and home-based settings.
- Maintain ongoing communication with providers, school district personnel, and internal team members to ensure timely service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement departmental processes and workflow improvements.
- Assist with provider recruitment initiatives, including outreach, networking, and candidate sourcing.
- Participate in meetings with internal teams, providers, and school district personnel as needed.
- Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient functioning of the BIS department.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Intervention Services.
- Staff in-district school-based and home-based Behavior Intervention Services cases in accordance with service timelines and individualized education plans
- Match provider credentials, licensure, experience, availability, and geographic location to student and district needs
- Maintain real-time awareness of open cases and prioritize staffing based on urgency, compliance requirements, and service start dates
Required Skills & Competencies
- Clinical behavioral background, including experience providing direct behavioral support services
- Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage high-volume caseloads
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly related to credentials and compliance
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Commitment to quality, accountability, and student-centered outcomes
Preferred:
- Experience working in a school or agency setting supporting students with special needs
