Title: Home Care Attendant
Job Type: Contract, temp to hire
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90057
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 8am – 4:30pm, Mon – Fri. The role would be responsible for completing visits to participants in the field, so there would need to be some flexibility to start earlier or stay later.
Hourly Comp: $23/hr - $25/hr
Position Summary: This is an opportunity for a mission-driven team player to provide outstanding care to frail and vulnerable older adults in your community. In this role, you will interact in a friendly, courteous and professional manner with participants and their family/caregivers. You will provide personal care in alignment with participants’ treatment plans, collaborate with the Home Care Coordinator to monitor for changes in a participants’ conditions, and participate in social activities with participants as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to participants, in their homes, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and physical lifting when transferring participants.
- Assist participants with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including laundry, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, appointment reminders, and medication reminders.
- Measure and document participants’ vital signs as instructed.
- Support the Rehabilitation Department by carrying out a personalized home exercise regimen as outlined in the care plan by the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), following thorough training.
Requirements / Certifications:
- Passion and mission orientation for serving high-risk seniors and frail older adults
- Experience with the frail and elderly population
- CPR and First Aid certification (must obtain within 60 days of hire, will be provided by the facility)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred
- Proof of a valid CA driver’s license, personal transportation, good driving record (motor vehicle records review will be completed post offer acceptance) and auto insurance as required by State law
