A small, private non-profit agency in Waterbury, CT is seeking an experienced and dually licensed (LCSW, LADC) clinician for the role of Executive Director. This long-standing organization provides a comprehensive continuum of care for individuals experiencing substance use and mental health disorders.
The Executive Director will provide both clinical and administrative leadership, ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, and strategic growth. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance direct clinical involvement with organizational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy services as needed.
- Oversee client progress and ensure treatment plans are adjusted to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, community partners, and support networks to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Provide supervision, mentorship, and leadership to clinical staff and interns, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
- Oversee daily operations, including administrative functions, program management, and service delivery.
- Contribute to organizational strategy, program development, and long-term planning initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Active LCSW and LADC licensure required.
- Proven leadership experience, including 10+ years of supervision of clinical teams and/or program management.
- Strong understanding of both mental health and substance use treatment models.
- Demonstrated ability to manage clinical programs while contributing to organizational operations.
- Experience with financial oversight, including interpreting profit and loss statements and supporting budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of business development strategies within behavioral health settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining current best practices.
