Job Title: Field Cable Technician – Spectrum Contractor (Production Pay)
Company: ITG – Subcontractor for Spectrum
ITG is currently hiring Field Cable Technicians to perform installations and service work for Spectrum customers. We are looking for motivated, reliable technicians, preferably with prior cable or telecommunications experience.
This is a production-based position, meaning the more installations you complete, the more you earn.
Work Areas
Technicians will primarily be working in the following Wisconsin areas:
- Brookfield
- Pewaukee
- Waukesha
- Hartland
- Oconomowoc
Vehicle Requirements
Applicants must provide their own work vehicle, one of the following:
- Pickup Truck
- SUV
- Cargo Van
- Minivan
Vehicle must have a ladder rack capable of carrying a 28-ft fiberglass extension ladder.
Pay Structure
- Production-based pay
- The more completed installs and service calls, the higher your earnings.
Responsibilities
Field Technicians are responsible for:
- Providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
- Managing and tying workflow to daily schedules
- Performing on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and testing
- Diagnosing technical issues and determining proper solutions
- Producing timely and detailed service reports
- Documenting processes and completed work
- Operating company/contractor vehicles safely
- Using field automation and reporting systems
- Following all company field procedures and safety protocols
- Cooperating with the technical team and sharing information across the organization
- Understanding customer requirements and making appropriate recommendations
- Building positive relationships with customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a cable technician, fiber technician, or telecommunications installer
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Good customer service and communication skills
