Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated Early Childhood Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of an early childhood teacher to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum
- Support the teaching team in providing a safe and supportive environment for children
- Assist with observing and assessing children's progress
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive learning environment
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Provide attentive care to all children
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Observe and document students’ progress and behaviors to inform individualized care plans
- Engage with children through play, sensory activities, and social interactions that encourage learning
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent caregiving practices and positive classroom dynamics
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing additional assistance as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Experience
- Prior experience working with infants or in early childhood education settings such as daycare, preschool, or nannying is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and caregiving best practices
- Experience with classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Certifications such as first aid are highly desirable; ongoing training in special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs
- Previous experience in caregiving roles such as babysitting or nannying that involved caring for infants is advantageous
