Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure our spaces meet high standards of sanitation and appearance. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to ensure optimal floor care and sanitation
- Handle chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, offices, hallways, and common areas to promote a healthy environment
- Assist with light maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, or painting as needed
- Follow heavy lifting and manual handling safety practices when moving furniture or large items
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly and maintained regularly for optimal performance
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor buffing, sanitation procedures, and custodial maintenance
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums effectively
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and facilities maintenance
- Customer service skills are a plus for interacting politely with staff or visitors when needed
- Previous porter experience or residential painting background is advantageous but not required
