We’re looking for a dependable, energetic, and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant who takes pride in doing quality work, enjoys being part of a collaborative team, and is looking for a long-term career opportunity with room for growth.
This is much more than a furniture moving position—you’ll play a critical role in helping create beautifully staged homes that sell.
Primary Responsibilities
Safely drive a 20+ foot box truck throughout Hampton Roads.
Maintain an excellent driving record and follow all DOT and company safety standards.
Work closely with the Logistics Team Leader to ensure efficient daily loading, transportation, staging, and warehouse operations.
Carefully load, transport, protect, and unload furniture, artwork, rugs, and accessories.
Set up and remove furnishings at residential properties while maintaining exceptional care of inventory.
Verify inventory accuracy before leaving the warehouse and upon arrival at each property.
Pack, wrap, protect, and transport furniture to prevent damage during staging and destaging.
Receive furniture deliveries and properly inspect, document, and store inventory.
Assemble, tighten, repair, and perform light refurbishment of furniture as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse.
Assist with inventory organization and accuracy using company inventory systems.
Perform routine truck inspections and help maintain company vehicles, including cleanliness and scheduled detailing.
Follow company checklists, safety procedures, and operational standards.
Communicate effectively with the Sales Team, Home Stagers, Office Administration, and fellow Logistics
team members to ensure every project runs smoothly.
Report incidents, damages, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.
Cross-train in inventory management and other operational support functions.
Perform other duties as assigned to support company success.
Qualifications
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Team player who communicates professionally and respectfully.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow established systems and checklists.
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
Ability to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
Comfortable climbing rolling ladders and working in varying warehouse temperatures.
Previous moving, delivery, warehouse, logistics, or furniture handling experience preferred.
Previous customer service experience required.
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and Google Calendar.
Reliable transportation to our Virginia Beach warehouse.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining productivity.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems, and think ahead.
Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
Employment is subject to successful completion of a 90-day introductory period.
Schedule
Monday through Friday
Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Additional hours may be available during busy seasons.
