Job Title: Classroom Teacher
Position Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (25 hours per week)
Reports To: Academic Leadership Team

Britestar was founded in 2022 and is a rapidly growing education service provider that helps schools go online to support families who desire an alternative learning environment with longer-term access to rigorous instruction in an online, Christian setting.
Position Overview
The Classroom Teacher role exists to support students' academic and spiritual growth within Britestar's blended learning model. In this model, core academic instruction is delivered through high-quality digital curriculum platforms, while Classroom Teachers focus on the areas where educators have the greatest impact: student engagement, personalized support, and academic progress. This role reflects an evolving vision of teaching: Teacher = the person responsible for student success, not just content delivery.
Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Mentorship
- Build strong, consistent relationships with assigned students.
- Encourage accountability, participation, and ownership of learning.
- Provide mentorship and Christ-centered encouragement.
Academic Progress Monitoring
- Monitor student progress within the digital curriculum platform.
- Identify students falling behind or needing support.
- Proactively intervene through check-ins, small groups, or support.
Targeted Academic Support (Synchronous Component)
- Provide live, targeted support sessions based on student need.
- Clarify concepts and guide students through challenges.
- Focus on targeted intervention, not full-class instruction.
Communication
- Communicate regularly with students and families regarding progress.
- Collaborate with Academic leadership and staff.
- Document student interactions and progress.
Christian Formation
- Model Christ-centered character and leadership.
- Support students' spiritual development through mentorship and encouragement.
- Integrate faith naturally into student relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Strong relational and communication skills.
- Commitment to Christian education and BriteStar's mission.
- Comfortable working within digital learning environments.
