Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Saw Cutter to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized cutting equipment to precisely cut concrete, asphalt, and other hardscape materials on various construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that structural elements are accurately shaped and prepared for subsequent construction activities, contributing to the safety, efficiency, and quality of our projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects while honing your skills in concrete cutting and related trades.
Responsibilities
- Operate concrete saws and power tools safely and efficiently to cut through concrete, asphalt, and stone according to project specifications.
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine cutting locations and dimensions.
- Assist in the construction of formwork and rebar installation to prepare for concrete pouring and finishing.
- Collaborate with team members to execute tasks such as concrete forming, rebar placement, and finishing activities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of all tools and equipment, including concrete mixers and cutting machinery.
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, heavy lifting, and proper handling of power tools.
- Support other construction activities such as plastering, caulking, stucco application, flooring installation, or concrete pumping as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction sites with knowledge of heavy machinery operation and hand tools.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, concrete mixers, saws, and other relevant equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes and blueprint specification interpretation.
- Knowledge of concrete cutting techniques, formwork construction, rebar installation, and concrete finishing methods.
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Carpentry skills such as framing or formwork construction are a plus but not mandatory.
