Overview
We are seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Estimator to assist with the estimating, planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects.
This position will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, field supervisors, vendors, subcontractors, and office staff to help ensure projects are properly staffed, materials are ordered and delivered on time, required documentation is completed, and projects remain on schedule.
The ideal candidate understands construction operations, is comfortable visiting active jobsites, and can effectively balance office responsibilities with field coordination.
Responsibilities
- Regularly visit active jobsites to review project progress, manpower, material needs, scheduling, and potential issues.
- Communicate with Project Managers, foremen, superintendents, and field employees regarding daily and upcoming project needs.
- Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Coordinate and schedule manpower across multiple active projects based on project schedules, priorities, and workload.
- Monitor upcoming work to ensure appropriate manpower, materials, equipment, and information are available before work begins.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts, delays, material shortages, or other project concerns and communicate them to management.
- Attend project meetings and jobsite meetings as required.
- Assist Project Managers with tracking project progress and completion percentages.
- Help coordinate project startup, ongoing operations, punch-list work, and project closeout.
- Prepare, organize, submit, and track project submittals.
Qualifications
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Experience in commercial construction, drywall, metal framing, insulation, acoustical ceilings, painting, or related trades is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in project coordination, assistant project management, estimating, field supervision, or a similar construction role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Basic understanding of construction estimating and quantity takeoffs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with general contractors, superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, and field employees.
- Proficient with computers and construction/project management software.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to active jobsites.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
