As a Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in leading the day-to-day operations of the culinary department across patient services, retail dining cafe, and catering. This role is responsible for assisting with food production, menu execution, catering services, team leadership, and maintaining high standards for quality, presentation, and food safety. The ideal candidate is an energetic, hands-on culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing teams while delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in managing culinary operations and ensuring efficient kitchen performanc

eSupport food cost management, budgeting, inventory control, and expense oversight

Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and daily food production

Prepare, cook, and oversee the presentation of food to ensure quality and consistency

Execute catering and special events, ensuring exceptional service and client satisfaction

Supervise and support hourly culinary team members, providing coaching and development as needed

Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards

Partner with company culinary and marketing teams to implement new programs, initiatives, and menu offerings

Assist with product ordering, inventory management, and vendor coordination
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience

Progressive culinary and kitchen leadership experience
-
Catering and special event experience preferred
-
Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice environments strongly preferred
-
Institutional, healthcare, or batch cooking experience is a plus
-
Strong knowledge of food trends, culinary techniques, quality standards, food cost controls, sanitation, and presentation

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet applications

Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction and client engagement initiatives

ServSafe Certification
