Full time dog groomer

Duties
- Perform skilled and efficient grooming services, including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing for various breeds of dogs and other pets
- Develop a trusting bond with each dog
- Handle animals safely and humanely, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques and gentleness
- Assist with pet care routines such as feeding, medication administration, and basic care procedures when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and work areas
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and care instructions
- Manage pet sitting or kennel duties as required, including heavy lifting of animals or equipment
- Monitor animals during grooming for signs of distress or health issues and report concerns to management or veterinary staff
- Support team members with additional animal handling tasks as needed
- Be able to safely lift and transfer equipment and dogs of varying sizes and weights.
- Be able to communicate by voice at an audible level despite machinery in the background
- Be visually observant and vigilant at all times, keeping everyone’s safety as a top priority.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Be flexible with food breaks to serve our clients’ needs first.
- Uses equipment properly and cleans and maintains the equipment.
- Able to operate cash register/payment tools.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming (minimal 2 years), animal handling, or veterinary assistance preferred
- Knowledge of dog training, veterinary technician experience, or veterinary assistant experience is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Familiarity with pet care routines, including pet sitting and kennel experience
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and safety protocols during grooming and handling
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $68,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
