Job Title: Law Clerk

Our Firm: We are a unique boutique firm specializing in representing post-acute health care providers in many aspects of operations including regulatory compliance, labor, and employment as well as contracts and transactions.
Ideal Candidate: We are seeking an individual with strong people, writing and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to manage their own workload and meet deadlines. Our law clerks join us on the front line of litigation, not in the back room writing research memos.
Job Summary: This position directly supports attorneys in civil and administrative litigation defending client health facilities against state and federal administrative agencies including defense of surveys and citations.
Required Experience and Education: Successful applicants must be enrolled in law school or be a recent law school graduate. Health care work experience of any kind is a plus.
Wages: Negotiable and commiserate with experience. Standard range for 1L to Post Grad: $20-35 per hour.
Work Hours: Law Clerks during the school year average 8-20 hours per week. Some flexibility in scheduling may be available.
Work Locations: Work is primarily performed at our offices located in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles. Some remote work might be arranged. Some work may be done at client locations in Southern California on occasion that will require applicants to have their own reliable transportation.
Job Duties: Can include active participation in analyzing legal allegations; legal research regarding identified issues; drafting letters and pleadings; interviewing witnesses and others; preparing discovery requests and evaluating discovery responses; drafting motions, oppositions, and replies; and other duties as may be assigned. Written and verbal communication of information must be consistent with professional standards. All staff must be able to problem-solve and efficiently perform job duties in a timely manner to ensure optimal client outcomes. All staff must also be able to use IT systems and firm computer programs in an accurate and proficient manner.

All staff should demonstrate cooperation, flexibility, efficiency, reliability and integrity in all daily work activities and a willingness to collaborate with others for the good of clients and the firm while also being self- motivated and able to work effectively on an independent basis.
