DrSnip® is dedicated to exceptional patient care and an outstanding patient experience. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day billing operations, support billing specialists, and help improve revenue cycle results.
The Medical Billing Supervisor is a working supervisor role that includes hands-on billing support, daily workflow coordination, team guidance, and issue resolution. This role supervises a small team and works closely with the Contracting, Credentialing, and Billing Manager to monitor performance, identify trends, and support process improvement. Final decisions regarding hiring, termination, discipline, compensation, and department policy remain with company leadership.
This role is ideal for someone with strong medical billing experience who enjoys coaching others, solving problems, improving workflows, and supporting team results.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support billing specialists in day-to-day billing operations.
- Provide coaching, training, workflow guidance, and timely feedback to direct reports.
- Assign daily priorities, balance workloads, and ensure billing tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor claim submission, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, and collections activity.
- Review team productivity, accuracy, follow-through, and individual performance trends.
- Assist with resolving complex billing issues, denied claims, payer problems, and reimbursement delays.
- Review aging reports and support collection strategies in partnership with company leadership.
- Identify billing trends, workflow gaps, recurring payer issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Track and report key revenue cycle metrics, team performance updates, and process improvement recommendations.
- Ensure billing work follows payer requirements, internal policies, HIPAA, and applicable healthcare regulations
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 3+ years of medical billing experience.
- 1+ year of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, accounts receivable, payment posting, denial management, and collections.
- Experience using EMR and medical billing software.
- Ability to coach team members, coordinate daily workflows, provide feedback, and escalate performance concerns appropriately.
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements in a remote work environment.
- This remote role requires a reliable internet connection, a private workspace suitable for handling confidential patient information, and availability during DrSnip’s standard business hours.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience supervising or collaborating with remote teams.
- Experience using reports and performance trends to improve collections, denial rates, revenue cycle performance, or billing workflows.
