Position Summary: Interventional Pain Management (IPM) medical / nurses’ aides are responsible for the care of patients with acute and chronic pain. Work closely with providers, patients, families, and other healthcare team members to assist with excitation of a treatment plan within license parameters governed by the Oregon Nurse Practice Act. This position is responsible for supporting the provider by preparing patients for procedures, assisting with injections and other minimally invasive treatments, maintaining patient records, managing the flow of patients in the clinic, and performing administrative tasks, all while adhering to strict aseptic protocols and ensuring patient comfort during procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Unencumbered Oregon License

BLS current preferred (within 6 months of hire).
- Past experience should show satisfactory to superior job performance

Experience in the specialty of pain management (Preferred)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with healthcare team and patients effectively.

Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy

Able to appropriately use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Knowledge of the fire plan an escape routes for patient and self.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows standards and practice for the licensed CMA or CNA per OSBN.
- Patient preparation: taking vitals, reviewing medical history and preparing procedure rooms.
- Documents appropriately in patient record
- Communicates with providers accurately concerning patient details.
- Maintains patient charts and electronic medical record.

Assist provider as directed during procedures in clinic setting.

Assists with fall prevention and preventing pressure, friction, and shearing of patient skin

Maintains effective communication with patients, families, and coworkers

Maintains patient and environmental safety.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.

Assist patients safely to private vehicle upon discharge.

Maintains and enforces strict patient confidentiality and respect patient and family rights

Demonstrates knowledge of State and Federal regulations
- Participates in in-service and education programs as required by Federal and State rules.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

- Reports potential compliance issues to his/her manager, a Compliance Officer or the Compliance Hotline, as appropriate.
