Job Overview
Ferrara Logistics is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator / Dispatcher to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in open-deck transportation who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the urgency and demands of the freight industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating shipments, sourcing carrier capacity, managing customer freight, and ensuring loads are delivered safely and on time.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage flatbed, step deck, RGN, and other open-deck freight shipments
- Source and secure carrier capacity using DAT, Truckstop, and company resources
- Negotiate carrier rates and maintain profitable load margins
- Track and trace shipments from pickup through delivery
- Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal team members
- Resolve service issues and provide proactive shipment updates
- Build and maintain strong carrier and customer relationships
- Support after-hours and weekend operations as business needs require
- Booking Back Hauls
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience with Flatbed, Step Deck, RGN, and Open Deck freight
- Proficiency with DAT and Truckstop load boards
- Strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and ability to work in a hybrid environment
- Willingness to work weekends when necessary
Preferred:
- Experience in heavy haul, crane & rigging, or specialized transportation
- Existing carrier relationships
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS)

Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- Weekend Availability as Needed
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
