Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Pharmacist to join our amazing pharmacy team. Ideal candidates will have compounding pharmacy experience, veterinary pharmacy experience, and/or a strong desire to work in this field. Pharmacists at Avrio often rotate to different primary positions in the pharmacy depending on the needs of the business. These areas include the contact center, dispensing pharmacy, retail pharmacy, and compounding pharmacy areas. Our pharmacists' duties overlap during the day with the ultimate goal to best support the patients and providers that turn to our pharmacy for care. Depending on skill-set and ability, the company may schedule a pharmacist in the most necessary position to meet the needs of our patients, providers, and business.
Job Duties:
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Perform both clincal pre-check verification and final check verification on prescriptions to ensure patient records, pharmacy label, prescribed medication, directions for use, dosing, indication for use, and all other legal and safety requirements are met during the filling and dispensing process.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and consult with patients and prescribers as needed to ensure safe medication dispensing.
- Consult with prescribers on compounded formulations to best meet the needs of the individual patients.
- Collaborate across all pharmacy departments as necessary to ensure patient, provider, and business needs are met. This includes collaboration with the sales and marketing team as required.
- Adhere to all pertinent pharmacy laws and regulations included Arizona State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, USP, accreditation bodies
- Perform patient consultation in person and via the phone as required by law and as necessary.
- Complete compounding log checks to ensure quality assurance of new compounded makes.
- Assist pharmacy in controlling and maintaining medication, API, supply, device, and any other inventory requirements.
- Oversee and support the pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, shipping associates, and any other assigned employees. This may include helping to build a work schedule, training, providing coaching as necessary, and collaborating with management in maintaining a high performing team.
- Assist in overseeing performance of pharmacist student interns, pharmacy technician externs, and other non-employee positions as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and providers.
Job Qualifications:
- Valid and in-good-standing Arizona pharmacist license with a preference if currently holds other non-resident pharmacist licenses with PIC willingness.
- Extreme attention to detail and proficient in pharmacy calculations.
- Compounding pharmacy background in human or veterinary medicine.
- Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> and able to discuss.
- Knowledge of 503a compounding pharmacy standards.
- Knowledge of GFI 256 and other general veterinary pharmacy standards.
- Skilled or knowledgable in compounding, including sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, hazardous and non-hazardous medications, aseptic technique, drug regulation policies, and hospital pharmacy operations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills working internally and externally.
- Able to stand and move for up to 8 hours at a time to complete job duties.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
