Med-Surg Adult / Step Down RN – Travel Contract
Location: Hilo, HI 96720
Pay Rate: $58/hour
Contract: Travel Assignment
Schedule: 12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week after orientation

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med-Surg Adult / Step Down travel opportunity in Hilo, Hawaii. This position offers the opportunity to work across various medical and surgical units in a supportive hospital environment.
Schedule
Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- Orientation and unit-specific training will be provided
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Active Hawaii RN License
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, or ENPC
Unit & Responsibilities
This is a Flex RN position, with floating between various medical and surgical units as needed, including:
- Medical Unit
- Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute)
- Cardiovascular Unit
Floating to the Cardiovascular Unit will occur only on rare occasions.
Equipment & EMR
- Meditech EMR
- Pyxis
- Wound vac
- Chest tubes
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios
- Medical Unit: 1:6 days/evenings; 1:8 nights
- Laulima Unit: 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves or staffing needs
Unit Information
- Medical Unit: 77 beds
- Laulima (Surgical Acute): 18 beds
- Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds
Dress Code
- Professional nursing attire
- Clean scrubs required
