Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Waste Water Treatment Facility Pretreatment Coordinator/Operator to join our dynamic team. The purpose of this position is to enforce Federal, State and Local regulations to ensure that no person / business discharges any substance, material or waste that can harm either the sewer system or Waste Water Treatment process or equipment and have an adverse effect on the receiving stream or can otherwise endanger life, health and public property. Compliance with adopted standards is achieved through public education, inspections, and enforcement actions.
An individual in this position is also expected to perform many duties of a Certifier Operator Grade IV and manual labor in addition to driving CDL vehicles. A WWTF Pretreatment Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control.
Minimum Required Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience: Must have High school diploma or GED and 5 years of advanced training/experience in wastewater treatment plant systems or industrial treatment processes plus heavy vehicle driving experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. All employment offers are conditional upon passing a reference and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.
Special Requirements: Must have and maintain: Grade VI Treatment License through appropriate CEU classes. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with airbrakes endorsement. Must submit to CDL Drug testing regulations.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position Monday through Friday (7am to 3pm) plus required overtime. This position is in the AFSCME Union with an hourly rate starting at $33.14 to $39.01 based on steps.
