Clover Montessori School, located in the heart of West St. Paul, MN, is a nurturing and dynamic educational community dedicated to serving children from 16 months to 6 years old. We offer a thoughtfully designed Montessori environment with one Toddler Community and one Children’s House, where our students thrive. As a school committed to following the Montessori philosophy as defined by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), we believe in fostering each child's natural curiosity, independence, and love of learning.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Children’s House Assistant to join our dedicated team of educators. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced AMI Montessori Guide to create a rich, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a deep respect for the Montessori method, and a commitment to helping children grow into confident, capable learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Guide in preparing, maintaining, and organizing a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing Montessori environment that promotes independent learning and exploration.
- Observe children throughout the work cycles, offering guidance and stepping back when needed to foster their development.
- Help facilitate transitions in a calm, clear, and respectful manner, to ensure a smooth flow of the daily schedule.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain positive and professional working relationships, sharing insights and strategies to support each child's growth.
- Participate in professional development through ongoing trainings, workshops, and seminars to enhance skills and stay current with Montessori best practices.
- Ensure compliance with DCYF licensing requirements, supporting the Guide in maintaining a safe and compliant learning environment that prioritizes health, safety, and well-being.
Position Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Successful completion of a background clearance check
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children and faculty
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Dedication to upholding the values of the Montessori method and fostering an environment where children can thrive
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate: $20.00 to 23.00 based on experience and education
- QSEHRA (Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement)
