Part-Time Grill Cook — Farmers Markets & Special Events

Kreung LA is a growing Cambodian street food concept specializing in grilled Cambodian BBQ. We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking Part-Time Grill Cook to join our team at farmers markets, pop-ups, and special events throughout Los Angeles.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Your primary responsibility will be working the grill, but like everyone on our team, you'll also help wherever needed to keep service running smoothly.
Schedule
We are primarily looking for someone with Sunday availability.
Sunday shifts will primarily be at Smorgasburg LA or the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
Approximately 10–15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours through catering, pop-ups, and special events.
What You'll Do
- Cook proteins on a high-volume outdoor grill
- Follow Kreung LA recipes, cooking procedures, and food-safety standards
- Maintain quality and consistency during busy service periods
- Help set up the booth, equipment, grill station, and service area before each market or event
- Help break down and pack equipment at the end of service
- Keep the grill and surrounding workstations clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift
- Communicate with the team to keep orders moving efficiently
- Jump in and help other stations when needed
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment and supplies
What We're Looking For
- Previous grill, line cook, BBQ, or restaurant cooking experience preferred
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working around high heat and open-flame grills
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, and cold
- Comfortable with the physical demands of setting up and breaking down a mobile food operation
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed
- Reliable transportation
- Sunday availability required
Experience is a plus, but reliability, attitude, and willingness to learn matter just as much. We can train the right person on our cooking methods and systems.
Compensation
Starting pay: $20/hour + tips after completion of training period
Kreung LA is continuing to grow across farmers markets, catering, and special events throughout Los Angeles. For the right person, there will be opportunities for additional hours and increased responsibility as we grow.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
