Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Site Supervisor to oversee on-site project execution - ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Responsibilities bridge field operations and project administration. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in project overview, and a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and operational excellence. As a Site Supervisor, you will motivate the crew members and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Coordination
- Review project blueprints, specifications, and contracts to fully understand scope and deliverables.
- Develop site-specific execution plans, including schedules, resource allocations and equipment needs.
- Monitor critical path: Track daily progress of activities that directly impact the final completion date.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure materials and manpower are available when needed.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities at the correct project milestones.
- Coordinate site mobilization, logistics, and layout of work zones, storage, and access routes.
- Translate project scope and design into actionable field activities.
- Support preparation of all project related documentation.
2. On-Site Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise/Direct daily field operations to ensure construction activities align with approved drawings and schedules. Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and standards.
- Lead and motivate site team, subcontractors, and labor crews
- Conduct daily briefings and ensure site personnel understand work priorities and safety protocols
3. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and company policies on-site per OSHA standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
4. Quality Control
- Monitor workmanship and materials to meet quality requirements.
- Conduct field inspections and coordinate daily activities with PMs & Logistics.
- Document deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Maintain a clean and organized site to promote quality and efficiency.
- Verify completed work meets building codes.
5. Budget and Cost Management
- Monitor field expenditures including labor hours, materials, and equipment rentals.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities through improved field methods or sequencing.
- Approve and monitor subcontractor invoices and change orders.
- Support the Project Managers with cost-to-complete and forecast reports.
- Prevent scope creep: Ensure field crews only build what is approved in the current drawing set. Review project plans and blueprints.
- Manage field waste: ensure drums and hazardous waste are properly disposed of with support from Project Coordinator.
- Handle field-initiated change orders.
6. Scheduling and Progress Tracking
- Assign daily tasks to the construction crew.
- Ensure critical milestones (pour dates, inspections, handovers) are achieved on time.
- Track daily progress, productivity rates, and delays; report variances to the PM.
- Flag delays early: Report look-ahead schedule roadblocks, such as weather or labor shortages, before it negatively impacts the master schedule. Adjust schedules as needed.
- Report delays or field issues to upper management with mitigation plans.
- Resolve conflicts or scope gaps in real-time to avoid schedule slippage.
7. Communication and Reporting
- Act as the primary liaison between field operations, project management, and clients.
- Provide weekly field progress reports, including photos, safety metrics, schedule updates, and budget performance.
- Maintain the site log: record daily weather conditions, active manpower counts, and work competed for legal protection alongside Foreman.
- Lead coordination meetings and represent the project team.
8. Problem Solving and Risk Management
- Identify field risks, conflicts, or design discrepancies.
- Implement solutions to keep the project on track.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams for technical resolutions.
9. Risk & Quality Management
- Enforce QA/QC plans: verify material installations match technical specifications to prevent costly project rework.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks related to weather, logistics, or subcontractor performance.
- Assess field risks: identify immediate structural or environmental risks that could halt the project.
- Manage punch lists: fix minor trade defects as they may occur throughout the build rather than waiting until the end.
- Document field changes and communicate the impact on cost or schedule.
10. Project Closeout
- Manage punch list completion and coordinate final inspections.
- Oversee site demobilization, cleanup, and turnover documentation.
- Lead lessons-learned reviews for continuous improvement.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
