The Role
We are hiring an experienced professional to support our attorneys on transactional and regulatory work. We are more interested in capability than title. The right candidate may be an experienced paralegal, an unlicensed attorney, a legal operations professional, a compliance professional, or another highly organized professional with strong writing, judgment, and follow-through.
This is a high-accountability role. You will own complex workflows, track deadlines across multiple active matters, and help attorneys move transactions and filings forward accurately and on schedule.
What You Will Do
- Support attorneys on mergers and acquisitions, financings, HUD matters, regulatory applications, and general business transactions
- Build and maintain transaction checklists, closing checklists, diligence lists, signature packets, and status reports
- Organize and manage transaction documents, regulatory filings, exhibits, schedules, and closing records, including document naming and version control
- Assist with state agency filings, licensure applications, change-of-ownership applications, and other governmental submissions
- Track deadlines, conditions, signatures, approvals, and open items across multiple matters
- Prepare, proofread, format, and assemble legal and business documents for attorney review
- Coordinate document flow among attorneys, clients, lenders, consultants, agencies, and outside parties
- Maintain the forms, templates, checklists, and trackers used for recurring transactional and regulatory work
What You Bring
- Minimum 3 years of relevant legal, compliance, regulatory, transactional, or project-management experience; 5+ years preferred
- Paralegal certificate, bachelor's degree, J.D., legal studies background, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience supporting transactional, corporate, real estate, financing, regulatory, health care, HUD, or governmental-application work preferred
- Strong written communication, proofreading, and document-handling skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and document-intensive projects with limited day-to-day oversight
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe; experience with Clio or a comparable practice management system preferred
- Ohio notary status preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Health care, long-term care, senior living, HUD, or regulated-industry experience is a plus, not a requirement
Who Succeeds Here
- Quick to learn and comfortable with complexity
