Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled US Citizen and detail-oriented Master Cam CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to produce precision metal parts. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint interpretation, and machining processes will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects while utilizing your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and write CNC programs for various machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment using G-code and M-code languages.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Set up CNC machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Perform machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation and precision.
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools like dial indicators, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to verify parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Program CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks or CAD (Computer-Aided Design) to generate toolpaths for complex parts.
- Maintain documentation of machining processes, program revisions, and quality control records while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, machine maintenance, and process improvements to enhance productivity and safety.
Skills
- Proven experience in CNC programming for milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading and interpretation of mechanical blueprints.
- Proficiency in CAM programming software such as SolidWorks CAM or equivalent CAD/CAM tools.
- Skilled in electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for precision component fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including GD&T specifications.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, height gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of metal machining processes including plastics injection molding support where applicable.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, grinding operations, welding techniques, and assembly procedures.
- Experience with CNC quality inspection methods ensuring parts meet strict quality standards.
- Knowledge of safety protocols involving hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
Join us if you’re passionate about precision manufacturing! Bring your expertise in CNC programming combined with your mechanical aptitude to help us produce top-quality components efficiently while advancing your career in a collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and excellence.
