Recovery Coach Job Description:
Recovery Coaches provide support and assistance to individuals that have history and/or current substance use. Recovery Coach positions are based on the recovery-orientated support environment that advances recovery orientation. These positions are trained and educated through MDOC to perform their job roles and will be trained in working with those under supervision. For this program, they will be assigned within a correctional facility under the MAT program.
Qualified Candidates: If you have been under court supervision either as a parolee or probation, the qualified candidate must have been off supervision for a minimum of two years to apply. Is an individual that has overcome their own addiction from drugs and/or alcohol.
Tasks:
- Educate about substance use and mental health
- Meet with individuals to engage them in services
- Educate about pathways to recovery
- Develop a wellness plan with the individual
- Communicate with agents about the treatment and needs/ concerns that the individual may have
- Complete GPRA Assessments
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Certification: CCAR, CPRM or CPRC. Candidate must have at least a CCAR to apply or they can have a CPRC or CPRM with experience in recovery coaching.
