We are seeking an On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse to provide skilled, compassionate after-hours care and support to hospice patients in their homes. This unique schedule offers the opportunity to work one week on and enjoy one full week off.
Schedule & Compensation
- 14 shifts per month
- Paid salaried position based on 70 hours every two weeks
- Flexible scheduling options available — hours and days may be adjusted to accommodate employee needs and work-life balance
What You’ll Do
As a valued member of our interdisciplinary hospice team, you will:
- Provide skilled nursing assessments and compassionate end-of-life care
- Deliver after-hours nursing care, interventions, and support in patients’ homes
- Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team to ensure individualized patient care plans are followed
- Support patients and families with empathy, education, and guidance during challenging times
- Help maximize patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life in accordance with hospice philosophy and standards of care
Qualifications
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Experience in hospice, home health, oncology, acute care, or related nursing settings preferred
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to respond compassionately and effectively to patient and family needs
- Comfortable working independently in home settings
- Emotional resilience, professionalism, and respect for diverse lifestyles and family dynamics
