The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, flexible, and service-oriented individuals for seasonal Cabin Counselor positions.
In this position, you will be responsible for youth supervision and the coordination of activities at camp. This role is a profound opportunity to directly impact the lives of the communities we serve by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. During each camp session, the Counselor is assigned and responsible for a small group of male campers, allowing interaction and rapport development with individual cabin campers.
**Living in a cabin with male campers for the entire camp session is required, which includes supervising the group.**
Location: YMCA Camp E.L.K. in Wrightwood, CA
Minimum Age: 18+ years.
Certification & Skills:
Completion of camp training session required.
Experience working with youth preferred.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to aid in facilitating an empowering organized program through teaching, encouragement, and support.
First Aid and CPR Certification (will be able to obtain during summer camp staff training).
