About MOVE Functional Fitness
MOVE Functional Fitness is a community-focused gym in Sioux Center, Iowa, located alongside Sioux Center Chiropractic Wellness Clinic. We opened in 2024 and we're growing. We're not a big box gym — we're a small, tight-knit team that genuinely cares about helping our members move better and feel better. Our members range from college athletes to grandparents, and we treat every single one of them like they matter. Because they do.
The Role
We're looking for a part-time Fitness Trainer who loves fitness and loves people, in that order. You don't need a long list of certifications. We'll invest in training and certifying the right person. What we can't teach is attitude, energy, and genuine care for the people you're coaching.
If your friends would describe you as someone who makes people feel welcome and motivated just by being in the room — we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Lead group fitness classes and work with individual members across all fitness levels
- Create an encouraging, welcoming environment where members feel supported and motivated
- Help members stay accountable and connected to their goals
- Participate in community engagement and social media — sharing your experience, being a real face of the brand, and helping us tell our story as a growing gym
- Follow up with members and help keep our community connected
Because we're a small, growing business, this role goes beyond the gym floor. If you're someone who is comfortable being on camera, enjoys engaging with people online, and takes pride in representing something you believe in — that's a genuine bonus here.
Schedule
This role includes a mix of early morning, midday, and some evening shifts depending on class schedule. Early morning availability is important — our members show up before work and they count on us to be there. If you're a morning person who takes their own fitness seriously, this schedule will feel completely natural.
Approximately 10 hours per week to start with, room to grow based on your performance and ambition.
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for fitness and helping others
- Coachable, reliable, and a true team player
- Comfortable with early mornings, evenings, and a flexible weekly schedule
- Lives in or within reasonable commuting distance of Sioux Center — this is a community role for someone invested in this community
- Comfortable with social media and community engagement
- Experience in fitness, coaching, or athletics is a plus but not required — we will train you
What You Get
- Competitive pay based on your experience
- Free gym membership
- Hands-on training and certification support
- A great team and a growing gym making a real difference in Sioux Center and the surrounding area
- Room to grow in hours, responsibility, and compensation as you develop
To Apply
To apply, send us your resume along with a short cover note, just a paragraph or two. Tell us a little about yourself, what you love about fitness, and why MOVE specifically sounds like the right fit for you. It doesn't need to be formal — just be honest and be yourself.
