Diamond Property Management is a locally owned property management company overseeing a growing portfolio of residential rental homes. Our mission is to provide responsive service, high-quality property care, and a smooth rental experience for both property owners and tenants. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a professional, organized, and tech-savvy Leasing Officer to join our team.
Position Overview
The Leasing Officer will be responsible for managing the leasing process from inquiry to move-in. This position will serve as a key point of contact for prospective tenants, assisting with property inquiries, scheduling showings, processing rental applications, communicating leasing requirements, and helping ensure a smooth transition for approved applicants. Experience with AppFolio property management software is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to prospective tenant inquiries by phone, email, and online platforms
- Schedule and coordinate property showings for available rental homes
- Assist applicants throughout the rental application process
- Review and process applications in AppFolio
- Communicate application status, leasing requirements, deposits, and move-in details
- Prepare and coordinate lease documents and related paperwork
- Maintain accurate leasing records, notes, and tenant information in AppFolio
- Track available properties and help keep rental listings accurate and up to date
- Coordinate with property managers, maintenance staff, and office personnel regarding property readiness
- Provide professional and courteous communication with applicants, tenants, owners, and staff
- Assist with general administrative duties related to leasing and property management
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience in leasing, property management, real estate, or an administrative office role
- Proficient in AppFolio property management software and able to demonstrate competency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- Comfortable speaking with prospective tenants and explaining leasing requirements
- Professional, dependable, punctual, and customer-service oriented
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn internal processes quickly
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Calm, friendly, and professional demeanor in a fast-paced office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in residential property management
- Familiarity with rental applications, leases, deposits, and move-in procedures
- Knowledge of Fair Housing guidelines and leasing best practices
- Experience updating rental listings and communicating with prospective tenants
- Ability to work well with tenants, vendors, property managers, and office staff
