MILLINGTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
POSITION: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER
LOCATION: MEACHUM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
REPORTS TO: MEACHUM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
DEADLINE: UNTIL FILLED
Must meet the following requirements:
1. Must meet all Michigan criteria to be Highly Qualified immediately.
2. Have a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a minimum of bachelor’s degree in elementary
education, grades K-8 self-contained. Endorsement in additional subject area preferred.
3. Demonstrate passion, enthusiasm, and expertise in working with elementary school students.
4. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of elementary school curriculum, philosophy, effective
instruction principles, assessment procedures, and learning and motivation theory.
5. Demonstrated enthusiasm and expertise in working with elementary school grade students.
6. Must be able to work with a diverse group of students including those “at-risk” and those identified for
special education services.
7. Minimum of one year of teaching experience in the K-5 grade levels is preferred.
8. Willingness to learn from and collaborate with other professional educators to gain insight in a variety of
teaching methodologies in working with a diverse student body.
9. Commitment to participating in ongoing professional development in Best Teaching Practices and
content area.
10. Willing to serve on Building and District Committees and in Extra Curricular Activities Positions.
11. Must be able to read, understand and interpret standardized test scores, or be willing to be in-serviced in
the same.
