Job Description:
Waller Truck Company has an opening for Transportation Safety and Compliance Coordinator position.
The Transportation Safety & Compliance Coordinator supports day-to-day transportation safety and compliance activities. This role monitors safety and compliance systems, coordinates safety training for frontline employees, and assists with incident investigations. The position works under the direction of the Risk Manager and helps ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations and company safety policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Monitor and maintain transportation safety and compliance software systems, including data entry, tracking, and reporting.
- Assist with compliance activities related to transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, Fuel tax, vehicle licensing, state and local requirements).
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate safety training and refresher training for frontline employees.
- Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses; assist with documentation and follow-up actions.
- Track corrective actions and support implementation of safety improvements.
- Maintain accurate safety records, files, and documentation for audits and inspections.
- Prepare routine safety reports and metrics for management review.
- Respond to safety questions from frontline staff and reinforce safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with internal and external safety audits and inspections.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or coursework in safety, transportation, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in transportation safety, compliance, or a related operational role preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety practices is preferred.
- Experience using compliance or safety management software preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with frontline employees and management.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
