LASER OPERATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads and unloads materials from the machine and delivers parts to the proper department.
- Deburrs, grinds and cleans parts as needed.
- Selects proper cutting programs and performs proper set-ups for cutting operations.
- Operates a fiber laser and cross trains on all fabrication cutting machinery, such as Shear and Saw.
- Performs daily and periodic maintenance on the Laser.
- Maintains prescribed preventative maintenance as required.
- Effectively and efficiently completes operations per hours as indicated on the job traveler.
- Ensures all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner.
- Correctly and efficiently utilizes the Kice Epicor computer/program system when clocking into and out of jobs.
- Works safely and efficiently with pneumatic, electric and manual hand tools.
- Safely and properly utilizes and operates an overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack and other authorized lifting apparatus in order to move parts safely and securely throughout the facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
LASER OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must have general computer knowledge.
- Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments on time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and meet other physical requirements needed for the position.
- Must be able to follow safety procedures at all times.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
- Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
- Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
