Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and caring Companion, Certified Nursing Assistant and HHA to join our team in Orlando, Florida and Altamonte Springs, Florida . You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and companionship to our residents in a supported living home care setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties:
- Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming (as needed).
- Administer medications (as needed)
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques (as needed)
- Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, engaging in activities that promote mental and physical well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a comfortable living space.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, as needed.
- Document resident care and activities in iconnect system (administration will set this up for you)
- Provide first aid and emergency response, as necessary.
- Support residents in their daily routines, including assisting with household chores and personal errands.
- Foster a sense of community and promote social interaction among residents.
- Respect and advocate for residents' rights, ensuring their dignity and autonomy are maintained at all times.
Qualifications:
-Reliable Transportation (Your Own Personal Vehicle)
-Valid Drivers License
-Training in Direct Care Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, HIPAA, APD IConnect Basics, HIV Bloodborne Pathogens (these courses are free and admin will set up system for courses to be completed for you)
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in a care setting, such as assisted living, home care, or personal care home, is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration
- First aid training is a plus (this has to be completed prior to starting but can be hired without this training)
- Ability to lift and transfer residents, as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion and empathy for persons with disabilities, with the ability to provide emotional support and companionship.
- A commitment to maintaining resident dignity and autonomy.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, if applicable.
- Familiarity with home community care and the needs of persons with disabilities in this setting is desirable.
