Duties
- Assist providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all clinical areas are clean and organized to promote infection control.
- Perform basic procedures such as casting and cast removal, medication administration, and wound dressing under supervision.
- Manage electronic health records, ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Support patient service activities by answering questions and coordinating follow-up care efficiently.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers by managing medical documentation and processing referrals or prescriptions through pharmacy coordination.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to protocols related to HIPAA privacy standards, medical records management, and basic life support (BLS) requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding.
- Hands-on experience in podiatry, urgent care, hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent healthcare provider certification required.
- Strong knowledge of electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR/EHR management, and medical documentation practices.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including geriatric and pediatric patients.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and medication administration accurately while maintaining patient safety.
- Demonstrated organizational skills in managing medical records, intake processes, vital signs collection, and medical office management tasks.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
