TITLE: Production Coordinator
SUMMARY:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for ensuring production readiness through accurate documentation, effective material coordination, and real-time ERP (Great Plains) system transactions. This role owns the preparation and verification of production records, ensures timely availability of materials at the production line, and maintains inventory accuracy and traceability within the ERP (Great Plains) system.
The Production Coordinator serves as a key liaison between production, warehouse, and quality teams to support schedule adherence, minimize disruptions, and maintain compliance with cGMP, food safety and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review the daily and weekly production schedule to ensure readiness for all planned runs.
- Prepare, verify, and organize batch records, work orders, and all required documentation prior to production start.
- Confirm material availability, quantities, and lot traceability in the ERP (Great Plains) system against production requirements.
- Ensure all materials are properly staged, labeled and verified against batch formulations prior to production start.
- Identify and proactively resolve or escalate materials shortages, documentation discrepancies, or scheduling conflicts to the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure all pre-production requirements are completed to enable on time production start.
- Direct and prioritize material handlers to align with real-time production needs.
- Collaborate with production operators to adjust material priorities as conditions change.
- Execute and validate ERP (Great Plains) transactions including material allocations, transfers, and consumption in real time.
- Own coordination of material flow between warehouse and production to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Identity and resolve material, documentation, and scheduling issues proactively; escalate when necessary with recommended solutions.
- Maintain alignment between physical inventory and system records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with warehouse and quality teams to address material constraints or quality holds.
- Review completed production batch records for accuracy and completeness, and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) before closing out work orders.
- Close and post completed work orders in the ERP (Great Plains) system, validate finished goods quantities, and reconcile any inventory variances.
- Track and record waste and yield metrics at the completion of each production run; identify trends or significant variances to the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure all production documentation is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and filed in accordance with applicable SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all Company Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Assist with coordination of cGMP and safety training for department personnel as needed.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards.
- Support all food safety and quality systems requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer, certifying body, GFSI, and company requirements.
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure team members are equipped with required documentation and tools.
- Serves as a central point of coordination between production, warehouse, and quality to ensure uninterrupted material flow and schedule adherence.
- Provide support to the Senior Team Lead and Production Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains), with experience in work orders, inventory, and material transactions. Familiar with batch record documentation, work order processes, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
- Possess basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
- Must be able to work in an environment where you are exposed to sensitive food ingredients and allergens.
- Willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Two (2) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience within the food and beverage industry is preferred.
- Prior experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently (up to 6 hours) stand throughout the shift.
- Frequently (up to 4-6 hrs.) walk through the shift.
- Occasional (up to 3-4 hrs.) sit and use hands/fingers to handle/feel.
- Occasional (up to 2-3 hrs.) lift/carry up to 25-30 pounds.
- Occasional (up to 2-3 hrs.) push/pull up to 25-30 pounds.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
