Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Machine Setup Technician to join the 1st shift team. This role focuses on setting up punch press equipment, with consideration for candidates who have setup experience on press brakes or similar machinery. The ideal candidate has hands-on setup experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to ensure machines are properly configured for efficient and accurate production.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up punch press machines for production runs
- Adjust tooling, dies, and machine settings to meet specifications
- Perform setup changes efficiently to minimize downtime
- Ensure machines are operating correctly before production begins
Quality & Production Support
- Verify setups meet print specifications and quality standards
- Troubleshoot setup or tooling issues as needed
- Work closely with operators to ensure smooth production flow
General Duties
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Assist with additional production or shop tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
- Previous machine setup experience (punch press, press brake, or similar equipment)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Direct experience with punch press setup
- Experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and equipment
- Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Fast-paced production environment
